Title : Structural and tectonic control on batholithic plutons of Indian granites
Abstract:
During the various geological time scale these Granites have been intruded in different size in the form of Batholiths and basic intrussive and varying in chemical and mineralogical compositions, grain size and various colours. Generally 4 to 5 types of granite is observed as pink granite, white granite, grey granit dark grey Granite granodiorite, dolerite and grey, dark grey and whitish grey are common varieties, some intruded with in the primary granite along with some mineralisations. The very youngest Granite located in the extreme North in situated in BADRINATH- KEDARNATH area, intruded in older metamorphosed Crystalline rocks, north of Main Central Thrust with the mineralization of Tourmaline, so we call in Tournaline Granite, This granite is dated to 21.73± Ma.In the Himachal Pradesh we get the CHOR Granite in Mandi District. It is also associated with the chur peak in Himachal Pradesh surrounded by the metamorphic rocks was intruded during the Himalayan Upliftment and associated with Main Central Thrust . The one of older granite which was intruded in the rocks of Aravalli Super Group in Berach village in Bhilwara, Barmer, Ajmer, Sirohi, Pali and Jalore distts and in Sand mata granite complex of Rajasthan, during early Proterozoic period intruded in 2500 ± 50 Ma containing the major deposit of Mica, Urenium mineralization, and copper in these rocks. This Granitic mass is associated with the Great Boundari Fault ( GBF) About 250 Km from Berach on the south east we have got the another major plutonic batholithic intrusive mass of Granites in the rocks of Mahroni Super group in and around Jhansi area, size of mass is spread over 10000 of Sq.km in Bundelkhand in north M.P and in South U. P. was Dated to 3552±.67 Ma, In the early Paleoproterozoic period. The next Plutonic batholithic intrusion took place in the rocks of Makakaushal Super Group in the form of MADAN MAHAL GRANITE batholith in Jabalpur area, south of Narmada Son Rift valley intruded in1801.64± Ma, known as the Madan mahal granitic complex, intruded in Satpura Super Group. During the early Middle Proterozic era the MALANJKHAND- LAMTA- LALBURRA , in Balaghat district area was intruded in the rocks of Sakoli Super Group/ Chilpi Super Group, under Satpura Orogeny in 2500± 68 Ma year ago, we have the another batholithic Intrussive of granite in the DONGARGARH- AMGAON area,in the north of Chhatishagrh Basin age is 2480± 70 Ma under Satpura Orogeny. All these granites associated with the Central Indian Suture Zones ( CISZ)which is trending NNW- SSE directions.
In the BETUL CHHINDWARA area we get the Granite which was intruded during the Middle Proterozoic period, in SOUSAR SUPER GROUP, Sapura Orogeny dated as 2167± 11Ma. granite rocks and Gneiss are 51± to 30 Ma and the mafic lava 1715±10 Ma, Further in the 200km south of Dongargarh granite the another Granitic Intrussive took place as BASTAR GRANITE in the southern margin of Chhatisgarh Basin famous for the non metallic TIN minerals. In 2531 Ma and Gneisses are dated to 2356 Ma to 2360 Ma. In the southern Bihar in Jharkhad area the major Graniitic inrtussive took place SINGHBHUM GRANITE in the older metasediemnatry rocks during the Satpura Orogeny which containg the metallic mineralization of Urenium in Singhbhum area and , copper, Gold In Mosabani area and Mica in Nawada, Koderma Hazaribah, Giridih etc in Pagmatitic rocks formed in Satpura Orogeny (-950 Ma.) are found to be 830Ma to 760Ma and 590 Ma respevtively, during the early proteroxoic period. Further east in Shillong area the rocks where intruded by the SHILLONG Granite containing the mineralization of Radioactive metals Urenium , dated to 3750±60 Ma. In West Bengal granites are found in Purulia, Birbhum distt as intrusive batholithic form and in Assam.
In the South Central area around Hyderabad area was intruded by the Granite in Early Proterozoic era, in the rocks of eastern Dharwarian Super Group rocks intruded by the Basic intrusives and diamondiferous body. Major exposures are at Hyderabad, Chittor, Khammam, Prakasam and Warangal Distt. And in the Central Dharwarian Super group rocks the intrusion of Mysore Granite took place in rocks of Dharwarian Super group in western Dharwarian rocks, which contains the gold mineralization in it .the age of 2500 to 3400 ± 80 Ma. In Karnataka region we get pink granite grey granite and Black granite. Major area where these n granites are exposed are Tumkur, Kolar, Chickmaglur South Kanara, Hassan, Raichur, Nallary, Bijapur and Gulbarga Distts. In the Tamilnadu area we get the Granite in the Walajah, Tirupathur, Vellore, Chengam, Dindigal,Tanjore, Nilgiri and Salem distts. Belong o Archean system found in 100s of Kilometer region. This Archean system includes Charnockite, Dharwar older metamorphics and the basement complex
