Abstract:

Copolymer used as viscosity improvers: hydrogenated poly(isoprene-co-styrene) (Infieum UK LIMITED) – trade name INFINEUM SV 260.
The copolymer INFINEUM SV 206 is used as viscosity improvers for multi-grade oil. The properties chemical and physical of copolymer INFINEUM SV 260 are: physical state – solid, form – white solid blocks, colour – compressed crumbs, odourless, flashpoint > 1500C, insoluble in water, is not material hygroscopic, stable, density (150C) – 0. 272 g.cm-3 and none hazardous decomposition.
FTIR spectra of copolymer measurement using FT-IR GX Perkin Elmer spectrophotometer in the range of 4000 to 500cm-1, with a resolution of 4cm-1.
The spectre FTIR of a copolymer INFINEUM SV 260. The characteristic absorption bands of a copolymer appeared at 2922.45, 2853.31, 2361.41, 1459.99, 1376.35 and 699.61 cm-1.The intensity of the absorption band at 2922.45 cm-1 associated with the CH2 asymmetric stretch had decreased significantly after aging. A similar decrease was also observed for the CH2 absorption band at 2853.31 cm-1, which is associated with the CH2 symmetric stretch. The intensity of the absorption band at 2361.41 associated with the CH2 asymmetric stretch had decreased significantly after aging.
The significant observation about the aged IR spectra is decomposition of the C-CH3 bond with an asymmetric bend at 1459.99 cm-1. The third major observation is in the intensity of the C-CH3 bond with a symmetric bend around wave number 1376.35 cm-1. A similar reduction was also observed for the out-of-plane CH bend absorbtion at wavenumber 699.61cm-1.
The spectres FTIR of one copolymer presents bend characteristic groups: CH3, CH2 and CH aliphatic.

Biography:

She is a teacher of chemistry and physics in middle school. She graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Bucharest in 1998. Studies Master she made in the same college and she has completed in 2001. She obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry in 2008 after 6 years of research stage, in which she obtained multi-grade oils based on synthetic polymers. Since 2005 she has participated in numerous national and international conferences, she has been publishing papers in journals national and international for study multi-grade oils, canola oils and sunflower oil. She continued the research by studying oils and get new rheological models describing their behaviour.
